Yes, winter is a great time to plant palm trees. Planting during the cold months allows the tree to focus on establishing its root system during its dormant period, giving it a better chance of thriving once spring arrives.
Does my palm tree need to be braced?
We brace any palm tree that we determine has a chance of leaning or falling based on the height, canopy, and location. If a customer is interested in planting their new palm trees at an angle and we are happy to do that.
How long will it take for my Hurricane cut Sabal Palm to fill in?
Every tree has different genetics and different sun and water amounts but on average a Sabal palm will have a 45 degree canopy after one year of being planted.
Will a palm tree fit in my yard?
We have multiple machines capable of planting heavy trees, We can squeeze through a 43 inch opening and even underneath a home on stilts! Your existing lawn will be kept in tact during the process. Unlike Oak trees and other trees native to our area palm tree roots are about 1/2" thick, therefor they can be planted near driveways, walkways, foundations, and do not cause harm. Proper spacing for your palm trees depends on the species of palm but staggered heights is an option for those preferring their palm trees to be close.
How is a palm tree measured?
There are three ways to measure a palm tree: the amount of clear trunk CT, the Overall height OA, and the container size. Clear Trunk is measure from the ground to where to foliage begins. Overall height is measured from the ground to the top of the canopy.
Why are some species priced by clear trunk foot and others a flat price regardless of height?
Certain Palm Tree species are farm grown and therefor priced based on maturity/height. Sabal Palms are harvested from the forest where they grew naturally therefor they are purchased at a flat rate.
Do I need an irrigation system for my palm trees?
Most palm trees require supplemental watering after installation for 2-3 months. This watering can be done manually or with installed irrigation. If no installed irrigation is available the customer will be responsible for manually watering during the first 2-3 months. If you are desiring a palm tree but will not be at your Florida home for 2-3 months following installation it is best to wait until you will be there to water properly. How often will my palm trees need to be trimmed?
Trimming your palm trees is entirely based on your preference in looks but most people choose to trim their palm trees once a year.
